Assignment 9 - Grace Barnett

 One topic that really gets me talking is the problems in the American foster care system. It was the topic that I chose for my Seminar paper last year and I tried to find solutions to help with the mental health problems that children have resulting from foster care. It really opened my eyes to how many kids get overmedicated and abused by medication in the system and it is something that I would love to try and help make a change in. There a lot of kids that get prescribed unnecessary medication so that the foster parents will receive more compensation and that just makes me so livid and I argued for mandatory therapy to try and prevent overmedication of kids. I think that there is not near enough light shed on the problems of the foster care system especially the mental health problems that arise that can be both short-term and long-term.
