Assignment 3- Ben Belin

One experience that impacted my view of the world was when my family and I went on a trip to Israel. I was pretty young when we went, it was when I was in the 7th grade. I remember landing there and being blown away from how different everything was. You could walk down a street and have rows and rows of vendors trying to sell you different items. They also had some pretty incredible food there. If you have never had the chance to try falafel you should definitely look into getting some. One of the most exciting moments of the trip is when I got to meet one of my third cousins who lives in Israel and who I had never met before. Although he spoke very little English we still had a ton of fun together. I remember whenever he would try to tell me something in English and forget the word he would run over to his dad to ask about the translation. I am a big fan of meeting new and interesting people so that part of the trip stuck out to me. We also got lost in the desert at one point while traveling to climb Masada which was a bit scary. Another highlight of the trip is when we went to the Western wall which if you don't know was part of the an ancient Jewish temple that was destroyed.
