Assignment 2- Eleanor Badgett

In the past twelve moths I am pretty sure I have read three books. The first of these book was The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan, which I read for my world class last year. I'm gonna be honest, I pretty much have never read any book I've been assigned for school all the way through until this one. Usually this is due to how long I procrastinate reading the book, leaving me without enough time to actually finish it. However, this world project's due date just so happened to line up with the very beginning of quarantine, providing me with all the time in the world to actually read the book, and I am very glad I did. I definitely enjoyed this book more than any other book I had been assigned in the past, which I was shocked by because I really had no original interest in the subject. The second book I read this year was Paper Towns by John Green. This choice was inspired by quarantine boredom, so I read it in a day while at my grandparents house. I was shocked at how fast I read this book, because I really have trouble just sitting and reading, but I was so engaged by the story I couldn't stop. The adventures the characters had were a nice escape from the lack of adventure I felt in the thick of quarantine. I really think I also read another book over the summer but I really can't remember what it was, so I guess it wasn't that good and was not exciting or even come close to challenging my way of thinking.
