Rukavina- Assignment 9

An issue that I'm passionate about is how our education system is run. To start it off entirely, I don't believe that the government places enough emphasis on the education system in America and does not provide enough funding to it. I think that it's ridiculous that some kids in our country are getting poor educations due to having to go run down schools that can barely afford textbooks. At this point in time in our society we should have progressed enough to allow everyone the chance to go to a respectable school that offers them opportunities for their future. But every year the fight for more funding to education continues. We've placed emphasis on education since the beginning of our country when we stated that once a town reached a certain population number that they to provide education for the children there. That was back in 1700s so why haven't we progressed this idea since then. Schools should be given enough funds to allow for textbooks, suitable cafeteria food, safety, and anything else that is needed to properly educate kids. There should be no reason for any child in the United States to not being going to school and not be getting an education that will help them. I also believe that being a teacher should be a more highly valued job. I know that there are some amazing teachers that love their jobs and are great at it, but there are always those that are the exact opposite. We shouldn't be able to joke about how bad a job being a teacher is because their incomes are so low. Becoming a teacher should be the equivalent of becoming a doctor, meaning that they have to go through more intensive schooling before applying to be a teacher and their incomes are higher.
