Assignment 13- Gaby Rondel

Influencers. Vloggers. YouTubers. Whatever you want to call them. Like what on earth. What do they contribute to society? They film their unproductive lives and provide pretty useless advice and get rich off of it. When I mention this in a conversation people always say "they contribute entertainment". How are they entertaining? I don't understand how it is entertaining to watch people go about their ordinary lives. How is it entertaining to listen to people describe what clothes they bought or what makeup is sponsoring them? Why do these companies even sponsor them? (Ok, I know why they sponsor them: advertisement.) This is just so irritating to me, just get a job. Not trying to sound like a grandpa here, you can be an artist, writer, actor, whatever that doesn't technically fit the cookie-cutter mold of a 'productive job', but do something MEANINGFUL with your life. 

This is one of the many things that bugs me about our society but is probably the one I will get most passionate about. If you couldn't tell by reading this, I was screaming at you. Thank you and that was my rant.
