One tradition that my family has right after Thanksgiving is putting up the Christmas tree. Putting up the Christmas tree for us means well, Christmas is coming. After the big and filling dinner from Thanksgiving, my family wakes up filled with energy. We grab our Christmas tree from the garage, dragging and lifting it from the stairs in to the living room. Then, we take it out of its container and hook it up to the tree stand(It's an artificial tree). Finally, the real tradition begins. As my brother and I hold up the tree, my dad sets up the stand so it can fit in properly. Once it is in place, our dad goes under the tree, finds the chord, and hopes for the best. Why? you may ask. Well, our real tradition is to see how much the tree has left in itself. Each year, our tree's aesthetic design gets progressively worse and worse. In its prime, the whole tree lit up with sparkle and wonder. The next few year, the top half of the tree stopped lighting up. And finally, this year, the tree gave us its last with the entire tree not lighting up. That tree spent many Christmases with the Lin family, but I think it is time to get a new one.
