Why do you watch TV? Why do you not? What shows do you love or hate? Why do you love or hate them?
In recent years, I haven't been much of a TV watcher, but I suppose I watch it because it provides some sort of stimulation when I have nothing else I want to do. The reason why I don't watch as much anymore is due to social media. It became some sort of instinct to choose the shorter, more action-filled videos on places like TikTok over a 30 minute show. I know what social media does to you- ie, shortens your attention span, yet I still can't quite kick it.
My favorite kind of TV show is a comedy show, but not like Friends or How I Met Your Mother. My type of humor is more present in shows like Community, Arrested Development, 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, and even Glee. I don't know enough about each type of comedy to know what that niche is essentially called, but it would be safe to say that that style is my favorite. Shows I dislike include Stranger Things, Riverdale, and Friends. I guess I'm not as much into drama and fantastical scenarios than I am to simple comedies.
