I’ve not done a lot of traveling. The only place I’ve been with my family is Ohio where we go to Kings Island and stay there for a few days. The only other two places I’ve been other than here are Washington DC as a fifth grade field trip, and Chicago, Illinois as an eighth grade field trip. While my Ohio trips with my family are fun and allows us to grow closer, I think that those field trips have taught me a lot more. Obviously because we went to museums and I literally learned more actual information, but also because we got to be in a different environment without our families and be more independent. The Chicago trip especially allowed me to become more independent but also to build on my relationships a lot more. Even just the 5 hour bus rides to and from wherever we were going were easily one of the funnest parts because it was at least 5 straight hours of being with your friends and we made the most of it by playing games and talking and it especially got me to become closer to my friend Morgan, and also my boyfriend. And then for example while we were in Chicago, we went on a boat where we had dinner and just looked out at the water and it’s one of my favorite memories. We got to watch the sun set and watch the Chicago city line together which was actually kind of bittersweet because this would be one of our last big moments together before high school. I still have photos from that trip on my phone and what it also taught me was about a big city. Chicago and Lexington are quite different in size and I remember being absolutely amazed at all the sights. Chicago really solidified all my relationships and the memories are some of my favorites I’ll ever have.
