I honestly don't know what I would do to sell myself to a stranger. When I attended a summer program at the music conservatory in Cleveland I had a roommate that I didn't really get along with that well. I'm not sure what I did wrong, I honestly did not spend that much time in our dorm to be honest. He woke up early to exercise, I woke up as late as I could and grabbed food on the way to our first rehearsal of the day. We had 4 hours of practice in the practice rooms every day. We were assigned neighboring rooms but I would often go to other people's rooms and not spend that much time in my rooms. I also after all the practicing I would go out and do stuff with the group of friends I had made avoiding practice time, which I'm pretty sure he kind of looked down on. But nevertheless I just didn't spend much time around him, I never really got to know each other. I thought maybe in our performance week we would get closer but honestly, that didn't happen. We took a bus to Chicago to perform with the Chicago Symphony and they gave us metro cards, so I spend even less time in the dorms, I would often come back at one or two in the morning when he was fast asleep, I think I had 3 conversations with him that entire week. If I were to go to college I probably should spend more time in the dorm to get to know my roommate, unlike what I did at the conservatory, but maybe if we had more time and not 3 weeks it would've been better.
