Assignment 14-David Butler

I usually have a fairly regular thanksgiving, sometimes with my mom’s side of the family, sometimes with my dad’s. But this thanksgiving was a little different which is to be expected due to Cov-idiots keeping the pandemic going. This thanksgiving my mom and I had a change of plans and decided to host thanksgiving for the first time since I was about 5. We had over my girlfriend's family and we had thanksgiving lunch/dinner together. It was a little awkward for about 10 min but quickly one of the best thanksgivings i've had. We had an absurd amount of food for only 7 people and all delved into the wide range of entrees, sides, and deserts. After we ate and talked and ate some more, Anna's family wanted to play a game they brought. Now, my mom's side of the family always plays trivia games during the holidays and we all get super competitive so I usually just step back and watch, but Anna convinced me. We played headbands and some other games. I was highly competitive but very unskilled. I obviously didn't win, not even close, but I had fun and stepped outside my comfort zone. This was a great Thanksgiving despite covid and I feel closer to Anna and her family.
